The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has just sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the implementation of embellishment of some roads, traffic junctions and public works in the city to create a spacious, clean and beautiful appearance to serve people and tourists during the 2026 Lunar New Year.
7 key areas, routes and traffic junctions are renovated including: Ben Thanh market square area; Phu Dong intersection roundabout; Ho Con Rua roundabout; Nguyen Hue, Dong Khoi, Ham Nghi and Hai Ba Trung streets.
For the square area in front of Ben Thanh market, paint the entire wall outside Ben Thanh market in the existing color, keeping the lines and characteristic decorative motifs; and replace the damaged lighting system.
Some neighboring works have also been renovated such as the Vietnam Railways Corporation building at 136 Ham Nghi and the building at 181 Ham Nghi (Ben Thanh ward), with new exterior paint according to the current color.
The traffic junction area, square in front of Ben Thanh market will be repainted with road markings, pedestrian paths and landscape decorations.
At Nga 6 Phu Dong roundabout, the statue of Phu Dong Thien Vuong will be newly painted in the existing color; at the same time, road markings, curbs and additional green trees will be repainted.
With the Turtle Lake roundabout, the central tower will be repainted with brighter colors (such as white or gray white), combined with painting road markings, curbs, sidewalk cleaning, water tank paint, planting new trees and renovating some buildings around the area.

On Nguyen Hue, Dong Khoi, Ham Nghi and Hai Ba Trung streets, the Department of Construction proposes to newly paint the facades of some buildings along the route to create urban synchronization and aesthetics. The median strip on Ham Nghi street will be repainted with road markings, curbs and concrete walkways.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approve a business to sponsor and directly implement the embellishment of 7 roads, traffic intersections and public works mentioned above.
The expected implementation time is from January 17, 2026 and completion before February 10, 2026, in time to serve people to enjoy spring and welcome Tet.
Previously, Le Loi street, about one kilometer long, had its facade newly painted, sidewalks paved with granite and medians, creating a spacious appearance.
