Ho Chi Minh City proposes to name 20 new names for 18 streets

HCMC - In addition to the proposal to rename 4 national highways, the city also proposed a plan to name 14 new roads in Districts 7, 12 and Tan Phu.

On the morning of December 9, at the 20th session, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee submitted to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council a report on naming streets and public works in the area, proposing to rename 18 streets with 20 new names.

National Highway 1 (over 44km) will be divided into 3 sections with new names:

- Do Muoi: Section from Thu Duc intersection (old Tram Hai intersection) to An Suong intersection, 21km long.

- Le Duc Anh: The section from An Suong intersection to An Lac roundabout, 14km long.

- Le Kha Phieu: Section from An Lac roundabout to Long An province border, 9.4km long.

National Highway 22 will be divided into 2 sections:

- Le Quang Dao: Section from National Highway 1 intersection to An Ha bridge, 10km long.

- Phan Van Khai: Section from An Ha bridge to Tay Ninh province border, 20km long.

National Highway 50 (8.5km from Nguyen Van Linh Street to Long An province border) will be named Van Tien Dung.

National Highway 1K (1.8km from the National Highway 1 intersection to the border of Binh Duong province) is proposed to be named Hoang Cam.

New names for streets in District 12:

- Central America West Road 13: Named Phan Van Hum.

- Trung My Tay 2A Street: Named Nguyen Thi Tren.

- Trung My Tay 7A Road: Named Dong Tien.

- Thoi An 03 Street: Named Ba Du.

- Thoi An 06 Street: Named after Tran Van Lam.

- Tan Thoi Nhat 21 Street: Named after Le Thi Anh.

- Road D32: Named Tham The Ha.

- Road D1: Named Huynh Tan Chua.

- Road D27: Named Nam Dinh.

- Hiep Thanh 11 Street: Named after Nguyen Van Van.

New names for streets in District 7:

- Road No. 67: Named after Ngo Thi Bi.

- Road No. 9 and No. 32: Named after Vo Thi Dang.

In Tan Phu district, route N1 is proposed to be renamed Tan Thanh.
