Ho Chi Minh City proposes more than 23,600 billion VND to open 2 strategic roads connecting Tay Ninh

Ho Chi Minh City proposes more than 23,600 billion VND to build 2 new strategic traffic routes including Vo Van Kiet extended road and National Highway 50B to strengthen connectivity with Tay Ninh province.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just submitted to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council a draft resolution agreeing in principle to assign the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee as the managing agency to implement 2 inter-regional transport projects, including the Vo Van Kiet extended road construction project and the National Highway 50B construction project.

This policy will be considered and approved at the third session of the 11th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031, taking place from June 19 to June 20.

Nearly 16,000 billion VND to build Vo Van Kiet extended road to Tay Ninh

The project to build Vo Van Kiet extended road has its starting point intersecting with National Highway 1 at Tan Kien intersection (Tan Nhut commune, Ho Chi Minh City) and the ending point connecting with Hai Son - Tan Do road in Duc Hoa commune, Tay Ninh province. The total length of the route is about 15.1 km.

The route passes through Tan Nhut and Binh Loi communes of Ho Chi Minh City and Duc Hoa commune of Tay Ninh province.

In phase 1, the project will clear the ground according to the plan with a cross-section of 60 m, and at the same time build 6 lanes, while the complete plan is 10 lanes.

Within a radius of about 242 m in Tay Ninh province, the project will invest in a number of items. Construction of a bridge over the Xang Nho canal with a scale of 6 lanes (of which half of the bridge is located in Tay Ninh province).

Renovation and expansion of the leading road section of the bridge on the Hai Son - Tan Do industrial park road (Tay Ninh province side) is about 100 m long, with a scale of 8 lanes, including 6 main lanes and parallel lanes on both sides.

In addition, on the road along the canal in Tay Ninh province, a 2-lane overpass will be built across the main route to eliminate intersections at the same level, ensuring safety and smooth traffic. A parallel road system of about 5 m wide on both sides is also invested to enter and exit the intersection area.

The total complete investment of the project is determined to be about 19,808 billion VND.

Phase 1 is done first with a scale of 6 lanes with a total investment of about 15,975 billion VND, of which site clearance costs are about 6,775 billion VND and construction costs are about 9,200 billion VND.

In the total investment capital of phase 1, the budget in Ho Chi Minh City is about 15,827 billion VND, and the part in Tay Ninh province is about 148 billion VND.

The project is expected to be implemented from 2026 to 2030.

More than 7,600 billion VND to build National Highway 50B

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City also proposed to invest in the National Highway 50B construction project with a total investment of about 7,655 billion VND.

The route has a starting point connecting to Pham Hung street at Nguyen Van Linh intersection (Binh Hung commune, Ho Chi Minh City), and an ending point connecting to DT. 827E route in Can Giuoc commune, Tay Ninh province. The total length of the route is about 10.6 km.

The project passes through Binh Hung, Hung Long, Nha Be communes of Ho Chi Minh City and Can Giuoc commune of Tay Ninh province.

According to the plan, the route is invested with a scale of 6 lanes, the roadbed is 40 m wide.

The project includes the construction of Can Giuoc bridge with a scale of 6 lanes across the Can Giuoc River (of which half of the bridge is located in Tay Ninh province), along with a road section about 700 m long on the Tay Ninh province side.

In the total investment of about 7,655 billion VND, site clearance costs are about 1,755 billion VND and construction costs are about 5,900 billion VND.

The funding part belonging to Ho Chi Minh City is about 7,332 billion VND, while Tay Ninh province is about 323 billion VND.

The project is expected to be implemented in the period 2026 - 2029.
