On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee organized a voting program for 50 outstanding events and activities of the city in the past 50 years.
The program voted for 50 outstanding events and activities organized to recognize and express gratitude for the important achievements of Ho Chi Minh City over the past half century. This is also an opportunity for people to participate in choosing events with special marks in the fields of history, politics, economics, culture, society, national defense, security, etc.
The list of events and activities is compiled from nominations from departments, branches, localities, press agencies and Advisory Councils including experts, historical researchers, and veteran revolutionaries of the city.
The public can also nominate additional typical events through the program's official website: https://binhchon50sukien.hochiminhcity.gov.vn.
The selected events and activities must comply with the guidelines, policies and policies of the Party and State, as well as the city's socio-economic development strategy through each period.
These events need to have a strong influence, receive widespread consensus and response from the people.
At the same time, the event must have important historical, political, economic and social significance not only for Ho Chi Minh City but also for the Southeast region and the whole country.
In particular, the events voted for need to be of timeless value, contributing to orienting new development trends. The evaluation criteria are also based on the pioneering, creative spirit, overcoming difficulties of Ho Chi Minh City, as well as the ability to clearly reflect the cultural identity and people of the city.
The public can participate in voting from March 21, 2025 to March 31, 2025. Events and activities nominated by the public will be considered by the Voting Council if they achieve a minimum nomination rate of 30% out of the total number of nominations.
