HCMC finalizes a series of strategic transport projects to soon end traffic jams
On the morning of October 15, the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, closed.
The Congress Resolution sets out 30 targets, in which transport infrastructure is identified as one of the three strategic breakthroughs, along with institutions and human resources.

Presenting the Resolution of the Congress, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said that the city will focus on investing in a synchronous infrastructure system, promoting regional linkages with neighboring localities such as Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, Lam Dong.
In the coming period, Ho Chi Minh City will implement a series of major projects including beltways, expressways, national highways, urban main roads, coastal roads, riverside roads, along with many intersections and large bridges connecting inter-regions.
Notably, the city will build coastal roads and roads along the Saigon River; build an East-West axis road (Van Kiet) extending from National Highway 1 to Tay Ninh border; a new Northwest road (from Ring Road 2 to Tay Ninh border); Binh Duong - Tay Ninh dynamic axis and connecting road and bridge No. 1 (National Highway 56B). Speed up the progress of the project to expand Ly Tu Trong Street worth over VND1,000 billion in Ho Chi Minh City
Recorded on October 15, the contractor is speeding up the construction progress of the Ly Tu Trong road upgrade and expansion project, from Binh Chuan intersection to Tan Khanh bridge.
This is a project invested by the Binh Duong Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
The project to upgrade and expand the road is 2,678 m long. The project is implemented along the existing route, arranged according to the planning of the provincial transport system with the starting point at Binh Chuan intersection, the end point is 50m from Tan Khanh bridge towards the existing DT746 road. The first bicycle rack in Ho Chi Minh City is under construction, people expect to promote green transportation
According to Lao Dong, on Mai Chi Tho Street, many machines have been mobilized to the construction site. The site for the bicycle lane is being cleared and peeled off to prepare for construction.

This project has a total length of nearly 5.8 km, extending from Nguyen Co Thach Street to D1 Street, designed to be 2 m wide (the section across the bridge is 1.5 m wide), and will be clearly separated from the motor vehicle lane by paint, identification symbols and accompanying infrastructure such as lighting system, drainage, parking lot, public bicycle station. Construction of 2.2 km of Saigon Riverside Road connecting to Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3
The Saigon Riverside Road Project in Thu Dau Mot Ward is about 4.8km long from Phu Cuong Bridge to Ba Lua Canal. Of which, the nearly 2.6 km section from Phu Cuong Bridge to Bay Tra Canal has been completed and put into operation.
Currently, the project is continuing to build 2.2 km from Bay Tra canal (Thu Dau Mot ward) to Ba Lua canal (in Thuan An ward). The investment capital for the construction of this road section is about 2,100 billion VND, of which the cost of site clearance is about 1,450 billion VND, the construction cost is about 409 billion VND.
