Ho Chi Minh City is deploying a peak period of inspection and handling of sidewalk and roadway encroachment throughout the area to restore urban order.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a plan to strengthen the work of ensuring traffic order and safety and urban order during the peak period of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year and the 2026 Spring Festival.

According to the plan, Ho Chi Minh City Police is assigned to preside over the organization of the City-level launching ceremony to implement peak inspection and handling of violations of urban order and order on roads, sidewalks, and sidewalks.

On that basis, the Police of wards, communes and special zones will simultaneously launch operations at the same time to show determination, synchronization, and perseverance from the City to the grassroots level.

Immediately after the launching ceremony and throughout the peak period, Ho Chi Minh City Police directed the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order Police to coordinate with local police, order police forces, local authorities and related units to strengthen inspection and strictly handle violations.

The focus is on main roads, hospital areas, schools, industrial parks, export processing zones, stops, stops, bus shelters and public spaces where encroachment, spontaneous trading, crowd gatherings often occur, causing urban unsightliness and obstructing traffic.

People's Committees of wards and communes are required to organize simultaneous campaigns in their managed areas, focusing on key roads, market areas, commercial centers, places where festivals and public entertainment are held.

Acts of encroaching on sidewalks for business, illegally erecting tents and tents, causing traffic obstruction will be strictly handled. The city requests to maintain regular patrol forces after deployment, not to allow violations to recur for a long time, causing public outrage.

The peak implementation period lasts until the end of February 21, 2026.

In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Police to direct the Traffic Police Department to strengthen the handling of acts that are direct causes of traffic accidents such as: Violating alcohol concentration, speeding, going in the wrong lane, avoiding overtaking in violation of regulations, carrying overload - exceeding the prescribed number of people, letting materials spill, stopping and parking passengers in the wrong places, not wearing helmets properly.

Ho Chi Minh City Police directed the Traffic Police force to coordinate with ward, commune and special zone police to arrange forces to be on duty at the main traffic axes, areas at high risk of congestion; proactively plan traffic regulation, ready to clear and rescue promptly when incidents occur, to prevent prolonged congestion, especially during peak days before and after Tet.

Areas that need to focus on ensuring traffic order and safety include: Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Cat Lai - Phu Huu port, Cai Mep - Thi Vai port, National Highway 13, National Highway 51, My Phuoc - Tan Van, tourist routes, industrial parks - export processing zones, passenger bus stations, Metro Line 1 and Saigon station.
