On January 17, the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (PC06) - Ho Chi Minh City Police announced a plan to coordinate with Department C06 - Ministry of Public Security to implement a program to collect DNA samples for relatives of unidentified martyrs throughout the city. This is a policy with profound humanistic meaning, expressing the Party and State's responsibility and gratitude to those who sacrificed for national independence.
The biological sample collection program will officially start from January 19, 2026 and last until the end of January 23, 2026 with working hours divided into two shifts, morning and afternoon.

The collection of DNA samples is carried out based on the principle of voluntariness, ensuring absolute safety and information security to build a database system to serve comparison with martyrs' remains in cemeteries across the country.
These biological samples are expected to be the "scientific key" to help heroic martyrs soon find their roots after many years of waiting.
During the campaign days, Ho Chi Minh City Police will deploy collection at many mobile locations to facilitate people.
On the launch day of January 19, working groups will work at the Hall of Hoc Mon Commune Police, Tan Khanh Ward People's Committee, Chau Pha Commune People's Committee and Gia Dinh Ward Police.
Collection activities will continue to be maintained on January 20th and 21st at Thu Dau Mot Ward People's Committee, Dat Do Commune Police, Ben Cat Ward People's Committee and Ba Ria Ward Community Cultural and Learning Center. To ensure no cases are missed, functional units will spend the last two days, January 22nd and 23rd, to organize a sweep at Ben Cat Ward People's Committee and Gia Dinh Ward Police.
Before this sacred mission, Ho Chi Minh City Police called on families of martyrs to actively coordinate and provide accurate information to functional agencies. The companionship of martyrs' families not only brings comfort to families, but also contributes importantly to helping the journey to identify martyrs to achieve practical results soon.
