Ho Chi Minh City - Electric bus route 127 (An Thoi Dong - Ba Xan intersection) will operate from March 1st, starting the plan to convert 100% of buses in Can Gio to clean energy.

On February 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center said that to ensure the operation of bus route No. 127 (An Thoi Dong - Nga ba Ba Xan) from March 1 according to the plan, preparations for vehicles and operating conditions are being implemented urgently and synchronously.

This bus route is operated by VinBus Ecological Transport Service Co., Ltd., expected to contribute to improving the quality of public passenger transport services in the city.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, in the past time, the unit has coordinated with VinBus to review vehicles, technical inspections, complete route identification, train drivers and service staff as well as fully prepare operating conditions. Preparation stages have been tightened to ensure service quality and passenger safety.

Putting route 127 into operation not only increases the capacity to serve the travel needs of people in An Thoi Dong area and neighboring areas, but also contributes to modernizing the Ho Chi Minh City bus network in a safe - convenient - environmentally friendly direction. This is also the first electric bus route deployed in Can Gio.

Currently, there are 5 bus routes operating in Can Gio. However, the frequency of operation of routes is still low, and the network has not really fully met the travel needs of people. The coverage rate of public passenger transport only reaches about 60% of the population within walking access.

According to the draft project on controlling emissions of vehicles in Ho Chi Minh City, the city sets a target that by December 31, 2026, 100% of buses operating in Can Gio, including Binh Khanh, An Thoi Dong, Can Gio and Thanh An communes (including existing vehicles) will switch to using clean energy, green energy, and environmentally friendly energy.
