On January 30, informing reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Lao Cai - Sa Pa BOT Investment Joint Stock Company said that the landslide recovery work at the toll station area of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway to Sa Pa connecting road project has been completed, ensuring traffic safety conditions according to regulations.
On that basis, the enterprise announced the resumption of road use service fee collection at Lao Cai - Sa Pa BOT toll station from 6:00 AM on January 31, 2026.

Toll collection is carried out according to the BOT Contract between Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee and the joint venture of investors, along with relevant approval documents of the Provincial People's Committee.
Previously, considering the proposal of the Department of Construction, the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee agreed to allow Lao Cai - Sa Pa BOT Investment Joint Stock Company to continue collecting project fees in the form of a Construction - Business - Transfer contract from January 31, 2026.

Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requests project enterprises to widely inform organizations and individuals about the plan to resume toll collection; organize toll collection in accordance with the provisions of the contract and current laws.
At the same time, continue to study the plan to solidify the landslide area at Km12+600 – Km12+900 to ensure long-term safety for the project during operation and exploitation.

In early July 2025, prolonged storms caused serious landslides in the Lao Cai - Sa Pa BOT toll station area.
A large amount of soil and rock from the positive slope spilled down, buried a section of road through the station, causing traffic on Provincial Road 155 to be disrupted, and vehicles were forced to change direction of traffic.
Up to now, after half a year of interruption, the landslide recovery has been completed, so vehicles can resume traffic.
