In early July 2025, prolonged storms caused serious landslides in the Lao Cai - Sa Pa BOT toll station area.

A large amount of soil and rock from the positive slope spilled down, buried a section of road through the station, causing traffic on Provincial Road 155 to be disrupted, and vehicles were forced to change direction of traffic.

Up to now, after half a year of interruption, the landslide recovery has been completed, so vehicles can resume traffic.
