Doc Quyt KSLH Station was established in 1998, located at Km4+800 National Highway 1A, Phu Xa Commune (old Cao Loc District), now Dong Dang Commune - a location considered the "gateway" to the center of Lang Son Province, which used to be a hot spot for smuggling and trade fraud.
In the period of 2011-2022 alone, Doc Quyt Station inspected 3,502 cases, handled 2,838 administrative violations, imposed administrative fines of VND10.6 billion, confiscated goods worth more than VND29 billion, and applied remedial measures to force the State budget to pay the illegal profits gained from administrative violations of VND6.7 billion.
Not only a checkpoint to control smuggled goods, Doc Quyt was once considered an important checkpoint to protect economic security on the border; a common home of 5 forces including: Market Management, Police, Customs, Tax and Border Guard.
However, as the legal system is increasingly improved, the authority to handle violations is clearly defined for each force, the inter-sectoral coordination model in Doc Quyt gradually becomes no longer suitable.
On August 14, 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang signed Decision 950/QD-TTg, officially dissolving the Doc Quyt Joint Control Station for anti-smuggling and trade fraud. After dissolving, all assets and facilities of the station will be handed over to the People's Committee of Lang Son province for receipt.
In the last days of November, when present here, according to Lao Dong reporters, the place that used to be a "steel shield" on National Highway 1A has now become deserted.
In the middle of the low valley, under the covered forest layer, the row of houses that were once the footprints of the interdisciplinary force now only have old concrete blocks, weather-dyed corrugated iron roofs and fading yellow walls.
Part of the two-story building has had its roof removed, exposing rusty iron frames. Many corrugated iron roofs are torn and crooked after a long time of no maintenance.
The old offices were empty, the floor was peeling off in pieces. Wood doors and iron doors were dismantled and piled up outside the yard; many walls were peeling and black.
Currently, some areas are being dismantled and renovated. Workers from neighboring communes are hired to clean, level the ground, and replace electricity and water lines.
A worker said that the repair had only just begun recently. The items include upgrading the electrical and water systems, repainting the entire paint, replacing the windows and main doors.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Hoang Manh Cuong - Chairman of Dong Dang Commune People's Committee said: "After completing the renovation, the project will be handed over to Dong Dang Commune Police for receipt and use as a working headquarters".
