On August 28, Can Tho City Police solemnly held a ceremony to award the Certificate of Merit to martyr Nguyen Van Kha, a former police officer of Vinh Tuong Commune, Vi Thuy District, Hau Giang Province (old), now Can Tho City Police.
Major Nguyen Van Kha died on the evening of April 14, 2025, while performing a patrol mission on the Nang Mau canal.
Major Kha and his teammates discovered two subjects using electric scissors to illegally fish. This is a dangerous behavior, seriously affecting the environment and posing potential risks to electrical safety.
When the police signaled to stop the vehicle for inspection, the subjects did not comply but instead increased the speed and fled and deliberately crashed into the patrol vehicle of the authorities, causing Major Nguyen Van Kha to fall and die.
Recognizing the brave and sacrificing achievements of Major Nguyen Van Kha in the fight against crime, on August 7, 2025, the Prime Minister decided to award the Certificate of Merit to martyr Nguyen Van Kha, former police officer of Vinh Tuong commune, Vi Thuy district, Hau Giang province (old), now Can Tho city police.
On behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the City Police, Colonel Huynh Hoai Han - Deputy Director of the City Police sent his deep gratitude and sincere condolences to the relatives of martyr Nguyen Van Kha, a loyal and brave son who lived and fought worthy of the noble title of a People's Police soldier.
The sacrifice of Comrade Nguyen Van Kha is a great loss to his family, comrades, and comrades; a testament to the spirit of "Forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people", a shining example of the brave spirit and silent sacrifice of the People's Public Security soldiers on the front to protect the Fatherland, maintain social order and safety; is the pride of the Party, the State, the People and the People's Public Security force.
At the ceremony, the Deputy Director of Can Tho City Police emphasized that the entire Can Tho City Police force will always be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, and the People; vowing to follow the example of martyr Nguyen Van Kha, continuing to practice, contribute, and maintain the qualities of People's Police soldiers, contributing to building the homeland to be more and more peaceful and developed.
