The project to open a new inter-commune road from Chi Lang town to Y Tich commune (Chi Lang district, Lang Son) has a total length of more than 7.8 km.
The project is invested in construction to meet the standards of grade B rural roads, with a total investment of more than 164 billion VND, invested by the Traffic Infrastructure Construction and Maintenance Management Board (Department of Transport of Lang Son province), the project implementation period is from 2021-2024.
It is worth mentioning that although the route is less than 8km long, 2/3 of the route passes along steep mountain slopes, with cliffs on one side and deep abysses on the other, making construction extremely difficult and arduous.
On November 24, speaking with reporters, Mr. Mai Viet Lao - Chairman of the People's Committee of Y Tich commune said that Y Tich commune is located about 21km from the district center. During each harvest season, people have to take a detour of 36km to bring vegetables, tubers, and fruits to Na Chi Lang market for consumption.
According to Mr. Lao, the difficult roads make the price of agricultural products in Y Tich lower than in communes with convenient roads. In addition, the people's medical examination and treatment are also limited.
In addition, Y Tich commune is a new rural commune and has many conditions for economic and social development.
"If the Chi Lang - Y Tich road is completed and put into use, it will shorten the distance from the commune center to the district center by 1/3, breaking the monopoly of National Highway 279. The circulation of goods will be more convenient, travel time will be shortened, and prices will be more stable.
On the other hand, the route also serves transportation and travel needs from the center of Chi Lang town to Van Linh, Bang Huu, Bang Mac, Hoa Binh and Gia Loc of Chi Lang district conveniently and quickly" - the commune chairman informed.
Talking about the difficulties in the project implementation process, the leader of the Management Board of Construction and Maintenance of Traffic Infrastructure of Lang Son province shared that the majority of the roadbed construction work is rock breaking and blasting. Contractors who want to construct the inner area must wait for outside units to open the roadbed. This leads to the fact that units cannot organize construction simultaneously.
According to the investor representative, "necessity is the mother of invention", the contractors have agreed on a solution to divide into sections so that all units can implement the work items according to the design.
In particular, mobilize maximum blasting equipment system and skilled workers to break rocks, open roads, and speed up project progress.
"Basically, the difficulties have been gradually resolved, the goal is to complete the project by the end of this year" - the investor representative excitedly shared.
