On the afternoon of May 16, Binh Dinh province solemnly held a flower offering ceremony at Quy Nhon Port Relic - The location of 300 days of gathering to the North. This is an opportunity for officers, soldiers, Southerners and students to gather in Quy Nhon to recall the meaningful journey of the historic days.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung - Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions; Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai - Deputy Minister of National Defense, and other representatives.

The ceremony took place solemnly with the participation of many delegates, who have been preserving the heroic tradition of the nation.
After the victory over Dien Bien Phu (May 7, 1954), at the negotiation table and signing of the Geneve Agreement (July 21, 1954), the French colonialists were forced to accept a ceasefire and restore peace in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. At this time, our country is temporarily divided into 2 regions, taking latitude 17 as a boundary, the two sides agreed for 300 days (from July 22, 1954 to May 17, 1955) to transfer troops to gather the North and South.
In Binh Dinh, there are 300 days to gather the troops of Inter-zone 5 to the North. From 1954 to 2019, the Party Committee and people of Binh Dinh have carefully completed all logistics work, prepared and successfully transferred more than 10,700 cadres, soldiers, forces and compatriots to the North, on ships leaving Quy Nhon port.

On the same afternoon, Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the working delegation of the Central and Binh Dinh provinces came to offer flowers and incense at Quang Trung Museum, Ho Chi Minh President Nguyen Sinh Sac Memorial Site and visit typical policy families in Tay Son district (Binh Dinh).
On this occasion, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and leaders of Binh Dinh province visited and presented gifts to families of outstanding students, officers and soldiers of Binh Dinh who gathered in the North in Tay Son district. Among them were excellent teacher Tran Vinh Tho (86 years old, in Phu Phong town) and Mr. Huynh Nhanh (96 years old, in Tay Xuan commune).
Here, the Vice President kindly visited and expressed his deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of families in the cause of national liberation and national defense.
"Committees, authorities, associations and unions at all levels continue to pay attention to and take better care of the material and spiritual life of policy families and people with meritorious services to the revolution," Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan suggested.
