On June 13, due to the impact of the circulation of Storm No. 1 causing prolonged heavy rain in Da Nang city, especially in the An Trach dam area (Hoa Tien commune, Hoa Vang district), the water level in the rivers rose, the flow was strong and there was a potential risk to the safety of irrigation works and residential areas.
The Da Nang Military Command deployed forces to quickly approach and handle the affected areas. Colonel Tran Quang Chanh, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the City Military Command, directly commanded the forces.
Recorded at the scene, due to the strong current, about 40 aquaculture cages of people from Dai Loc area (Quang Nam) were drifted and stranded in the An Trach dam area.
These cages block about half of the dam surface, covering 6 drainage compartments up to 35m long, seriously obstructing the flow and increasing the risk of affecting the dam structure. The water level measured at the dam is now at 5m, exceeding the safe level (3m), posing a potential risk of dam failure and causing serious flooding downstream.

In the face of the above emergency situation, the Da Nang City Military Command has urgently directed and organized forces of nearly 180 officers, soldiers of the regular army and militia to participate in overcoming the incident and preventing risks.
The forces have synchronously deployed measures to dismantle, salvage and relocate the trapped cages, ensuring the unblocking of the flow, reducing pressure on the dam, while maintaining the safety of people's lives and property in the downstream area.
The response work was carried out seriously, according to the correct procedures, ensuring absolute safety for officers, soldiers and people.
The city's armed forces continue to maintain combat readiness, closely monitor weather and water levels in key areas, and deploy local support forces to respond to any unexpected situations.
