On the afternoon of January 25, leaders of Bao Loc Ward 1 People's Committee (Lam Dong) said that a drowning incident had just occurred in the area, causing a male student to die tragically.
According to information from functional agencies, on the afternoon of January 24, V.V.C (12 years old, residing in Ward 1, Bao Loc) was playing with his cousin in a relative's nursery in residential group 18.
While playing, C unfortunately slipped and fell into the self-dug lake used to water the nursery. Because the lake is more than 2m deep, the bottom is covered with slippery tarpaulin and he does not know how to swim, he was submerged in water.
About 15 minutes later, family members discovered the incident, picked up C and took him to Lam Dong Hospital II for emergency treatment, but the victim had died before that.
It is known that the victim is a 6th grade student, currently studying at a secondary school in Ward 1, Bao Loc.
After the incident occurred, local authorities and mass organizations visited, expressed condolences and supported the victim's family with 10 million VND to encourage them.
