On June 6, the People's Committee of Phong Phu commune (Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City) quickly reported the discovery of functional foods being illegally dumped at an empty lot on Nguyen Van Linh street.
At 11:00 a.m. on June 6, the unit received a report from the people about the discovery of many types of medicine and functional foods dumped on an empty lot (belonging to the Phong Phu Industrial Park project) on Nguyen Van Linh Street, Hamlet 12.
The unit promptly directed the Commune Police to block off and inspect the scene. Through inspection, it was noted that there were 5 dumping sites for drugs and functional foods at the scene.
Initially, it was recorded that there were about 50 kg of medicine and functional foods (for adults and children). These types are still valid until 2025, 2026. In addition, at the scene, a yard was completely burned down, with an area of about 20 square meters.
Currently, the authorities have recorded the initial scene and coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City Police to examine the scene, investigate related people, and investigate the incident.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the morning of June 6, people discovered thousands of functional food products dumped on the sidewalk of Nguyen Van Linh Street. Among them, many products have foreign labels and are still valid.
After receiving the information, Phong Phu Commune Police, Binh Chanh District, were present to record the scene and ask for information from surrounding houses to handle the incident. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety has also transferred the case to the police for investigation.
