On August 27, Team K92, Political Department, An Giang Provincial Military Command coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to organize the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains who sacrificed during the anti-American resistance war in Hoa An hamlet, Hoa Hung commune, An Giang province.
From information provided by veterans and people, Team K92 conducted surveys, verification and organized searches at locations suspected of having martyrs' remains. Officers and soldiers dug and inspected 23 pits, with about 31m3 of soil. Through searching, the unit discovered and collected 1 set of martyrs' remains.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hung, Team Leader of Team K92, said that after decades, the terrain and artifacts in many areas have changed, and the traces of the martyrs' burial places are no longer clear. Therefore, each source of information from veterans, witnesses and people is surveyed and carefully compared by the unit before organizing the search. With the spirit of "while there is information, there are signs, there is search", officers and soldiers of Team K92 are determined to carefully review each area and bring back the remaining martyrs.
As of August 27, in phase 1, phase XXVI (2026 - 2027), Team K92 has searched and collected 71 sets of martyrs' remains in many areas in the province. The unit continues to coordinate with Party committees, authorities, veterans and people to collect and verify information, expand search areas, contributing to the implementation of the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude", meeting the expectations of relatives and families of martyrs.
