On July 18, information from the People's Committee of Hieu Giang commune (Quang Tri province) said that the Team for searching for and repatriating martyrs' remains of Division 968 had just successfully exhumed 2 martyrs' remains in the locality.
Previously, from information provided by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Loi and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Kiet (members of the Veterans Association of Hieu Giang commune), the Team for searching and repatriating martyrs' remains of Division 968 urgently deployed forces to organize surveys and searches.
On July 17, at coordinates 63035-18970 in Phu Ngan village (Cam Thanh village, Hieu Giang commune), functional forces found and exhumed 2 sets of martyrs' remains.

Two martyrs' remains were found lying at a depth of 50cm to 60cm. The remains found included long shin bones, arm bones, femoral bones, pelvic bones, skull, jaw, feet, toes and many teeth. The artifacts accompanying the martyrs included 1 martyr's sack, 9 buttons, 1 belt and a nylon bag wrapped in decomposed remains.
Currently, 2 sets of martyrs' remains are being preserved and solemnly worshiped at the Phu Ngan residential area Community Learning Cultural House.
The team searching for and repatriating martyrs' remains of Division 968 is continuing to survey and expand the search scope in the above area; and at the same time coordinate with functional agencies to inspect, verify, and compare information sources to serve the work of identifying martyrs.
