Heavy damage
According to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, as of 4:00 p.m. on October 3, there were 8 deaths and 6 injuries due to storms.
The storm and flood also damaged more than 2,000 houses, of which 93 were completely damaged, 304 were severely damaged, and 1,649 were partially damaged.
In addition, more than 6,300 hectares of rice, 4,712 hectares of crops, 4,072 hectares of annual crops, 2,452 hectares of forestry, 483 hectares of fruit trees, 161 hectares of flower trees, ornamental plants and 8,265 shade trees were damaged and broken. Nearly 93,000 cattle and poultry died and were swept away; 74 barns were damaged.
The whole province has 205 educational institutions affected, there are still about 60 facilities that cannot welcome students back.

Regarding seafood, more than 4,300 hectares of aquaculture were flooded and damaged; 49 tons of fish and 2.3 million shrimp seeds were swept away; 2 frozen warehouses were flooded with 39 tons of fish; 412m3 of cages were destroyed. The power system was also damaged with 8 medium-voltage poles, 1,033 low-voltage poles and 5 transformer stations. In addition, many traffic, irrigation, cultural, medical works... were also seriously affected.
Absolutely do not let schools, food, or accommodation be lacking
Faced with the heavy damage, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province issued a telegram requesting to focus on overcoming the consequences. Sectors and localities must support people to repair essential houses and infrastructure, first of all healthcare, education, electricity, water, communications and transportation, especially the routes that are cut off, to be completed before October 5.


The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Absolutely do not let students in disadvantaged areas lack schools, classes, or books; people have no shelter, lack food, clothing, or a place to see a doctor when sick.
The province also requested urgent implementation of support policies for families with dead, missing people, collapsed and damaged houses; immediately repair schools and medical facilities with blown-off roofs. At the same time, they will clean up obstacles, restore traffic, and regenerate agriculture and aquaculture to stabilize their lives.


Authorities must closely monitor the situation, ensure the supply of food, necessities, and household repair materials; control prices, strictly handle speculative and profiteering activities.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, after the water receded, in many localities in Thanh Hoa, the authorities, along with soldiers, police, militia, and volunteer youth, quickly coordinated with the people to overcome the consequences and clean up the desolation left by the storm and flood.

Consecutive storms No. 8, 9, 10 and floods caused by the storm have killed 19 people and many people are missing. Many houses and production and business establishments had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage.
