On the morning of February 12, traffic through the Ca Pass tunnel area (Khanh Hoa province) experienced prolonged congestion. Meanwhile, the North-South expressway in the East through the province also began to have a lot of vehicles.

According to a representative of Ninh Hoa Traffic Police Station (Khanh Hoa Provincial Police Traffic Police Department), at about 7 am on February 12, on National Highway 1, South - North direction, the section in the Deo Ca tunnel area experienced a long traffic jam. Vehicles lined up, moving very slowly.
Faced with the above situation, the Traffic Police force has mobilized maximum officers and soldiers along with specialized vehicles to organize traffic diversion and regulation, supporting people to travel through congested areas.
Leaders of Ninh Hoa Traffic Police Station said that the main cause of congestion is the increased number of vehicles from southern provinces and cities, besides, the toll station in the Deo Ca tunnel area is sometimes overloaded, causing traffic congestion.
Meanwhile, representatives of Highway Traffic Patrol and Control Team No. 6 (Team 6), Room 6 - Traffic Police Department (C08, Ministry of Public Security) informed that on the Nha Trang - Cam Lam and Van Phong - Nha Trang highways (South - North direction), the traffic volume is gradually increasing, starting to become bustling again.
At the end of the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway, if a traffic congestion occurs, Traffic Police Team 6 will proactively divert traffic and guide vehicles to National Highway 1 at intersections such as National Highway 26, National Highway 27C... to continue their journey in the South - North direction, in order to reduce pressure on the expressway.
Meanwhile, on the same morning, a sleeper bus carrying 34 people traveling on National Highway 1, passing through Hoa Xuan area (formerly Phu Yen) suddenly caught fire fiercely.
The incident did not cause any casualties, but the vehicle was completely burned down. Traffic through this road section was also congested, making moving very difficult.

Mr. Bui Quoc Toan, a long-distance driver from Quang Tri, said that congestion in the Deo Ca tunnel area during the peak days of the Tet holiday makes the journey more tiring than expected.
I started from Nha Trang in the early morning, but when I got to Deo Ca tunnel, the car was almost standing still in each section.
Waiting in the car for a long time, both anxious because of fear of being late for delivery, and tired, affecting safety when continuing to drive long distances," Mr. Toan shared.
According to Mr. Toan, prolonged vehicle congestion not only puts pressure on drivers but also increases fuel costs, time and psychological stress.
I hope the functional forces will continue to reasonably divert traffic so that vehicles can travel faster, especially during peak days after Tet, so that drivers are less vất vả and travel safer," Mr. Toan said.
