In the afternoon of July 27, according to reporters of Lao Dong newspaper on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, in the direction from Dau Giay to Ho Chi Minh City, prolonged congestion occurred. Accordingly, congestion occurred at the section near the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway intersection (Dong Nai City section) at nearly 5 pm on July 27.

According to records, this expressway section is currently barricaded on both sides to organize construction, vehicles only move in 2 lanes. A series of cars line up slowly and difficultly moving, forming a long stream of vehicles through this area.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon of the same day, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway were quite clear.
Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway section is under construction to expand its length by nearly 22 km, of which the section passing through Dong Nai City is 13 km long.

The project scale, the section from Ring Road 2 intersection to Ring Road 3 intersection in Ho Chi Minh City is invested in expanding from 4 lanes to 8 lanes.
In the section from the Ring Road 3 intersection of Ho Chi Minh City to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway intersection, excluding the scope of Long Thanh bridge invested in expanding from 4 lanes to 10 lanes.
Previously, on August 19, 2025, Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway section. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, especially Long Thanh bridge, the main bridge is expected to be joined in December 2026 and the remaining items will be completed in the first quarter of 2027.
