According to the forecast, the number of passengers passing through the wharf during the Lunar New Year this year will increase by more than 4% compared to the Lunar New Year 2025.
In particular, during the peak period from December 26 to 28 (ie from February 13 to February 15, 2026), the number of passengers passing through Mien Tay Bus Station is estimated to reach 58,000 to 68,500 per day, mainly on routes to the Mekong Delta provinces.
According to the plan, bus routes to the West will be adjusted to increase ticket prices by no more than 40% compared to normal days for 6 days, from December 26 to the end of the second day of Tet.
For routes to the Central Highlands, the price increase and time are applied according to the Tet service plan of the old Mien Dong Bus Station; routes to the Central and Northern regions are implemented according to the plan of the new Mien Dong Bus Station.
Previously, the Eastern Bus Station and the new Eastern Bus Station announced the Tet ticket price increase of 40 - 60%, depending on the stage and time.
Mien Tay Bus Station said that the characteristics of the station are that passengers focus on traveling at the end of the year, peaking from December 26.
Therefore, during the three peak days from December 26 to 28, the station will organize ticket sales from 5am to 9pm for ticket sales entrusted units at the station; the units that sell their own tickets will serve passengers 24/24 hours.
Passengers who want to buy tickets can go directly to the Mien Tay Bus Station ticket office at 395 Kinh Duong Vuong, An Lac ward, Ho Chi Minh City; contact hotline 1900 7373 or visit the website www.bxmt.com.vn for detailed instructions.
To effectively serve the travel needs of people, Mien Tay Bus Station will proactively arrange travel packages and mobilize vehicles according to the registration charts of transport units; at the same time, closely monitor passenger traffic on each route to promptly adjust and increase vehicles for key routes, avoiding congestion and overload.
In addition, the Bus Station will mobilize more contract vehicles, tourist vehicles and vehicles operating on the routes to increase passenger clearance during peak days.
Mien Tay Bus Station also proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center consider granting 200 additional fixed-route bus badges (of which 100 vehicles have a distance of less than 300 km and 100 vehicles have a distance of over 300 km), and at the same time support the increase of connecting buses to best serve the travel needs of people during the Lunar New Year 2026.
