The workshop was attended by more than 100 delegates, including experts in the energy industry, state management agencies, and businesses. The results of the project not only create a solid foundation for expanding the energy-saving market, but also contribute significantly to the development of investment incentive policies, towards an energy-saving industry, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and responding to climate change.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade) affirmed that the success of the Project "Promoting the energy-saving and efficient investment market" is a clear demonstration of the effective cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese and Korean governments. Ms. Giang said that after more than 3 years of implementation, the project has helped form a solid foundation for energy-saving solutions in the industry, improving the capacity of management agencies, enterprises and financial institutions in implementing energy-saving projects.
Mr. Le Viet Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance and Economics (Ministry of Finance), shared that in more than 3 years of implementation, the project has achieved many practical results, especially the close coordination between project implementation agencies and localities. The project has supported the development of input reports, completed green growth action plans in 10 provinces, and researched and guided green investment projects, contributing to encouraging businesses and financial institutions to participate in energy-saving and green development projects.
The project has supported the implementation of feasibility studies on energy-saving investment in enterprises, while building institutional and policy frameworks to attract investment in this field. Communication and training activities have also contributed to raising public awareness of green growth and sustainable development.
Mr. Lee Byung Hwa - Country Director of KOICA in Vietnam - emphasized that the cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea in promoting energy efficiency is a clear demonstration of the comprehensive cooperative relationship between the two countries. The project not only helps increase energy efficiency in the industrial sector but also builds a green financial foundation, creating favorable conditions for sustainable development.
The project has implemented in-depth training programs on energy saving, while sharing valuable experiences from Korea in building efficient energy models. In particular, the project has contributed to the formation of research and solutions to reduce energy consumption in key industries such as steel, cement, paper and textiles, thereby expanding investment opportunities in the energy-saving sector in Vietnam.
