Vietnam Airlines has just announced flights to Europe amid the complicated developments of the conflict situation in the Middle East.

On March 3, 2026, Vietnam Airlines said that in the face of the complicated developments of the conflict situation in the Middle East, the airline has proactively adjusted its routes and flight operation plans between Vietnam and Europe to avoid affected airspaces, ensuring absolute safety for passengers and crews.

All flights between Vietnam and Europe operated by Vietnam Airlines have had and are having flight routes far from war zones and are being carried out safely according to plan.

The airline said it will continue to closely monitor the developments of the situation, closely coordinate with functional agencies and prepare flexible operating plans to maintain stable, safe and effective flight operations.

Flight route adjustments may prolong flight times and have a chain reaction effect on the operational schedule of the entire flight network.

However, this is a necessary solution, demonstrating the principle that safety is the highest priority in every operational decision of Vietnam Airlines.

Vietnam Airlines recommends passengers planning to travel to or from Europe during this time to regularly update flight information on the official website www. vietnamairlines. com and the airline's official Fanpage.

Previously, as Lao Dong newspaper reported, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam had a document directing aviation safety assurance plans related to the war situation in the Middle East region.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on February 28, 2026, the US and Israel launched a large-scale offensive against Iran. Countries such as Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel have announced the closure or restriction of airspace to ensure national security in the context of escalating war.

Airports such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha International Airport also temporarily suspended or restricted flight operations due to airspace closure orders and safety risks to civil aviation operations.

This situation has caused large-scale disruptions to the global flight network, many international airlines have canceled or adjusted their operating schedules, especially routes to/from the Middle East and routes connecting Europe - Asia through this region are being seriously affected.

To ensure absolute aviation safety, maintain smooth air transport operations, and limit risks to passengers and airlines, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requests units to urgently implement the following contents: Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) proactively develop flight operation solutions, especially for flights that have to adjust flight schedules due to the impact of escalating war situations.

Ensure the provision of accurate and timely information to airlines and relevant units to serve safe flight operations.

Vietnamese and foreign airlines with routes to/from or flying over the affected airspace regularly monitor and update the military conflict situation in the Middle East region, especially related to Iran and countries that close their airspace.

Proactively assess potential risks and the level of impact on international routes, including routes connecting Europe - Asia that often use regional airspace.

Fully update safety warnings, NOTAM, information from aviation authorities of countries, IATA, ICAO, EASA and other official sources to make appropriate operating decisions.

Proactively assess risks, promptly adjust operating plans, flight plans, and alternative routes (if necessary) to ensure absolute aviation safety and security.
