The incident happened this morning (March 3) in My Duc commune, Hanoi. Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dinh Manh Tien - an employee of Dien may xanh store, who directly participated in supporting firefighting - said that the truck was moving in the direction from Tuy Lai - Hong Son to Te Tieu intersection.
When passing in front of Dien may xanh store, roadside residents discovered the two rear wheels of the car on fire, smoke and a pungent smell rising.
I stood up and shouted loudly, signaling to the driver, but because I was sitting in the cabin, maybe the driver didn't hear, the car continued to move," Mr. Tien said.
The car continued to run to the Te Tieu intersection area and then turned left in the direction of Hoa Binh. At this time, a traffic police team was patrolling the road. Detecting something unusual, the functional forces immediately turned the car around, turned on priority signals and chased after the truck to request it to stop.
At that time, I and the store manager also took fire extinguishers and rode motorbikes to chase after them. When we got close to the LPBank bank area, about 100m from the intersection, the car stopped, and everyone helped put out the fire," Mr. Tien recounted.
Thanks to the quick coordination between people and functional forces, the fire was controlled in time, preventing more serious consequences. The cause of the incident is being investigated and clarified.
