Viettel Marathon has AAA standard running course
According to the Organizing Committee, Viettel Marathon is completing the necessary procedures to ensure the AAA standard running track is professionally managed by the Vietnam Athletics Federation and supervised by the Asian Athletics Association.
AAA standard course is a full-distance course that has been measured by experts from the International Marathon and Distance Race Association and certified by World Athletics. This is the highest standard in athletics, defined by strict technical and safety requirements.
This standard not only improves the quality of the tournament in terms of fairness, safety and accuracy of the running track, but also ensures that athletes can experience the feeling of competing at an international level right in Vietnam.
In addition, the Asian Athletics Association will directly supervise and inspect the organization process, ensuring that the event is professional and safe. Experts from the Asian Athletics Association will be present to conduct a thorough supervision process, helping athletes feel more secure when participating in the competition.
In mid-October 2024, the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) A-class experts completed the measurement of the 4 distances of Viettel Marathon Hanoi 2024. This is the basis for issuing a certificate of sufficient distance after the measurement report of the International Marathon Association is recognized by the World Athletics Federation. The 42.195km route is considered to be favorable for professional and amateur athletes who intend to break personal records, even national records... when the route does not loop, goes through flat, spacious roads.
Right from the inception and planning of the organization, the Vietnam Athletics Federation set the goal of Viettel Marathon achieving the World Bronze label in the following seasons. Currently, no race in Vietnam has achieved the World Bronze label. To achieve this, one of the important criteria is to ban the entire running route. Viettel Marathon has announced a new 42.195km running route with more than 2000 hurdles, the most of any race in Vietnam, to ban the maximum route, ensuring the best experience and safety for athletes.
Full marathon starts and finishes at My Dinh Stadium
Starting and finishing at My Dinh National Stadium - the sports symbol of Vietnam, Viettel Marathon Hanoi 2024 brings an unprecedented running route. The Organizing Committee has officially announced the 42.195km running route with no repeats, giving athletes a new and seamless experience from start to finish.
Along the route, athletes will admire the beautiful scenery of Northern Vietnam, the scenic Thay Pagoda, with its brilliant sunrise, will be a memorable moment for the participants. To ensure the best experience for the athletes, the organizers shared that they have arranged for road cleaning vehicles before the start time.
Viettel Marathon 2024 is not just a sporting event
The Viettel Marathon 2024 is not only a sporting event but also an opportunity to promote sports and fitness in the community. The race is expected to attract about 25,000 athletes from many different countries.
The tournament also contributes to promoting tourism and local economy, promoting the image of Hanoi to the world. The first stage in Luang Prabang (Laos) received the participation of more than 5,000 athletes, along with the support of the Lao government, the Vietnamese consulate in Laos, the community and Vietnamese businesses in the neighboring country.
The Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Luang Prabang shared: “Viettel Marathon is a great bridge for people of the two countries to exchange, connect, and understand each other better, in order to foster and build a great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and two peoples that will forever be green and everlasting.”
