On the afternoon of July 12, Cam Lam Commune Police (Khanh Hoa province) issued a warning after recording a wild langur individual appearing in the area.
Previously, at the Aquamarine Cam Ranh Resort, staff discovered a black langur individual with a white face moving on a coconut tree. Immediately after that, they informed the authorities.
According to initial information, the langur individual is likely to live in the Cu Hin mountain area and in the process of moving, it got lost in the resort.
To ensure safety for people as well as protect wildlife, Cam Lam Commune Police requested people not to approach, chase, throw or have actions that scare the langur individual.
Functional forces also emphasized that people should absolutely not hunt, keep, buy, sell, transport or store douc langurs in any form.
This is a dangerous, precious, and rare wild animal protected by law, and all violations will be strictly handled according to regulations.
When spotting langurs or other wild animals appearing in residential areas, people need to maintain a safe distance.
At the same time, immediately notify Cam Lam Commune Police or forest rangers so that functional forces can promptly receive and bring the animals back to the natural environment.
Recently, in Khanh Hoa, many cases of wild animals straying into residential areas and being voluntarily handed over by people have been continuously recorded.
In early July 2026, Nha Trang - Dien Khanh Forest Protection Department received many wild animal individuals discovered by people.
Among them were two monkeys of Group IIB, a wasp of Group IB weighing nearly 4kg and a python about 2m long, weighing about 7kg.
After completing the procedures and health checks, these individuals were coordinated to be released back into the natural forest in the area of the Hon Ba Nature Reserve Management Board.
Previously, in Phuoc Ha commune, the police force in coordination with forest rangers also received a muntjac (Muntiacus vaginalis), belonging to Group IIB in the list of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals. After a period of care and health monitoring, this individual was released back into the natural environment.
Similarly, in Cam Ranh ward, a resident discovered a stingray individual appearing in the middle of Le Duan street and proactively contacted the police to hand it over to functional agencies. The stingray is also an animal belonging to Group IIB protected by law.
People proactively notifying and handing over wild animals upon detection contributes to biodiversity conservation.
