Through the analysis results, all water samples have indicators within the permissible limit, not exceeding the prescribed threshold. Water quality meets standards for domestic water supply and agricultural irrigation," a representative of Xuan Du Commune People's Committee informed.
Also according to this leader, the cause of fish deaths in recent times is very likely due to harsh hot weather. Previously, a similar phenomenon was also recorded in many households in Hop Tien commune.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, in the first days of May 2026, many households in villages 7, 8 and 10 expressed concern about the phenomenon of mass natural fish deaths in streams, the section flowing to Can Khe 1 bridge. According to people's reflections, not only fish died, but some ducks who ate dead fish also died.
After receiving information from the people, Xuan Du Commune People's Committee sent functional forces to inspect the scene.
Functional agencies also worked with Mr. Le Viet Don (residing in hamlet 8, Xuan Du commune). According to the initial inspection record, on May 7, Mr. Don brought a plastic drum used to store gasoline, which had been dirty for a long time, to the area in front of his house to wash it. Wastewater from the drum flowed directly into the sewer.
In addition, specialized agencies of Thanh Hoa province have come to the locality, taking water samples at the stream near Can Khe 1 bridge and at some related households, in order to clarify the cause of mass fish deaths.
