On the evening of January 26, leaders of Ben Cat Ward People's Committee said that the ward had reported on the inspection and handling of information reflected related to food safety in the semi-boarding kitchen at Luong The Vinh Elementary School.
Accordingly, Ben Cat Ward People's Committee determined that the discovery of 90 kg of pork (frozen ribs) occurred at 5:15 am on January 15. This amount of pork did not meet quality requirements.
Ben Cat Ward People's Committee affirmed that all 90 kg that did not meet quality requirements had been recorded and returned to the supplier, Phuc Hau Company.
The Ward People's Committee has directed Luong The Vinh Elementary School to work with Phuc Hau Company. The school has requested the supplier to sign a commitment to strictly implement the supply of food of the correct quality and type, and at the same time agree to terminate the contract if violations recur.

At the same time, the Ward People's Committee requested the school to explain clearly, publicly, and transparently information and food safety control procedures to parents.
In the coming time, Ben Cat Ward People's Committee requests schools to increase food safety inspection and supervision at boarding kitchens. At the same time, review food supply contracts, terminate contracts with suppliers that do not meet food safety and hygiene requirements.
Ben Cat Ward People's Committee also requested schools to standardize the process of publicizing semi-boarding kitchen information, ensuring that parents have full and timely access to relevant information.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on January 25, there was a stir online about the color change of pork preparing to be smuggled into the kitchen of Luong The Vinh Elementary School, Ben Cat ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
Some parents reflected that during a surprise inspection of food brought into the kitchen, the team discovered 90 kg of frozen pork ribs suspected of being of poor quality. In which, some portions of pork had turned yellow and green. The above incident caused concern for parents about food safety and hygiene issues.
On January 26th, some parents went to school, requesting school leaders to clarify the process of handling after detecting the change in color of pork; at the same time, requesting the school to explain why they did not report to the management agency to resolve when detecting suspected unsafe food; requesting the school to provide a record of handling the incident.
