On March 16, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quy, Director of the Dak Lak Social Protection Center, said that the center had just had an incident where many elderly and disabled people suffered from dysentery.
"Up to now, there are 6 elderly people being treated and cared for at Buon Ma Thuot General Hospital. Many others have stable health.
The center has been sprayed with disinfectants, thoroughly cleaned by the medical team, and isolated some areas to prevent the spread of the disease," Mr. Quy added.
As Lao Dong reported, on March 15, the Office of the People's Council and the City People's Committee received information about a suspected food poisoning incident at the Social Protection Center (under the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health).
According to the verification results, there were a total of 14 people suspected of food poisoning. These are elderly and disabled people who are being cared for at the Dak Lak Provincial Social Protection Center.
On March 11, there was 1 person with a stomachache and was examined and treated by the center's medical department.
From March 12 to March 13, 13 people continued to have symptoms of abdominal pain, with loose stools. The center assigned people to perform examinations and give treatment according to symptoms.
On March 14, the Provincial Social Protection Center transferred 6 people (out of a total of 14 people) to Buon Ma Thuot General Hospital for treatment due to blood in stool and exhaustion.
After the cases gradually increased, the Social Protection Center inspected the care and cleaning of the campus.
