Regarding the case of a girl who died from suspected drowning at Hoan Kiem Lake, on October 27, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward sent a report to the People's Committee of Hanoi City.
According to the report of Hoan Kiem ward, at around 7:00 a.m. on October 25, some people exercising in the Hoan Kiem lake area (opposite house number 9 Hang Khay) discovered a woman with unusual signs swimming in the lake, and called for help.
The ward police have contacted the rescue force of Fire Prevention and Fighting Team 7 - Hanoi City Police and the 115 Emergency Center to support the rescue.
The authorities and local people encouraged the woman to move to the shore; however, this person did not enter but continued to swim in the middle of the lake.
A member of the Security and Order Team of the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter, together with a foreign man, swam out to rescue the woman and brought her to shore in a state of exposure.
The rescue and relief forces of Team 7 Fire Prevention and Rescue and the 115 Emergency Center gave first aid on the spot to the woman and took her to Viet Duc Hospital for further treatment. However, Viet Duc Hospital said the victim did not survive.
The Ward People's Committee has directed the Ward Police to coordinate with functional units to conduct an autopsy on the scene of the incident and an autopsy to investigate the cause; at the same time, verify the identity and identity of the victim.
