Sending hundreds of tons of rice and relief supplies to Hue to cope with floods

The State Reserve Department of Region IX is supplying rice, buoys, life rafts and rescue vehicles to Hue to overcome floods.

On October 28, Mr. Le Quang Thanh - Head of the State Reserve Department of Region IX said that, implementing the direction of the Ministry of Finance and the State Reserve Department, the unit is providing hundreds of tons of food and rescue supplies to support flood recovery work in Hue.

The State Reserve Department of Region IX said that in Hue City, the unit has prepared 300 tons of rice, 200 light life rafts, 5,000 round life buoys, 5 water pumps and 1 DT3 boat. The goods will be handed over by the department to the local authorities to promptly distribute to people in flooded areas, prioritizing areas with cutting off, food shortages and lack of waterway safety vehicles.

Previously, in order to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10, the unit issued many supplies to Quang Tri and Hue.

Quang Tri province alone has received 1,500 life buoys, 5,000 life buoys, 6 generators, 200 light life rafts, 6 sets of rescue rope launching equipment and 10 fire pumping water systems. For Hue, the unit has provided 637 life jackets, 2,000 life buoys, 3 50 KVA power generators, 200 light life rafts and 2 DT3 high-speed boats to serve natural disaster prevention and search and rescue.

According to the State Reserve Department of Region IX, the issuance of national reserve goods is carried out according to demand, closely following the developments of floods and local requests, ensuring "right time, right place, right target". National reserve resources are an important checkpoint to help the government proactively respond, minimize risks, protect people's lives and property, and soon stabilize their lives after natural disasters.

The unit said it will continue to monitor the situation and be ready to export additional food and rescue equipment when the locality requests, to ensure the safety of people during the peak of floods.
