Unexpectedly appears a street name sign for Ton Duc Thang street
For many months now, inside the Premia Eco City Urban Area Project (in Tan An ward, Dak Lak province), a road with the name Ton Duc Thang has appeared, while other roads in the urban area are only named in characters and numbers.
It is worth mentioning that the Ton Duc Thang road project, invested by the Buon Ma Thuot Construction Investment Project Management Board, is undergoing site clearance and construction in Buon Ma Thuot and Tan An wards.
The road has not been completely cleared and has not yet fully installed the system of signs, street names, lighting, sidewalk paving...
According to research, in 2021, Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee approved the Ton Duc Thang road project (section from Nguyen Dinh Chieu street to Tran Khanh Du street and section from Phan Trong Tue street to Le Quy Don street) with a total investment of more than 565 billion VND, about 1.2km long.
In 2022, the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City (old) continued to approve the Ton Duc Thang extended road project (from Dong Khoi road to 3.2ha infrastructure construction area, Tan An ward) with a total investment of more than 34 billion VND, about 1km long.
However, the road section named Ton Duc Thang in the Premia Eco City urban area is not within the project scope implemented by the Buon Ma Thuot Construction Investment Project Management Board but is named by the urban area investor himself.
This unit has also not received any reports from the investor regarding the naming of the road.
Moreover, the road named Ton Duc Thang located in the Premia Eco City urban area has not yet been connected to the Ton Duc Thang road under construction. Between the two routes, there is still a large land plot with many green trees...
Functional agencies get involved in verifying
Leaders of Tan An Ward People's Committee said that the investor of Premia Eco City urban area has not yet handed over technical infrastructure, including roads, lighting systems... to local management.
The Ward People's Committee has also not received a report from the investor about naming the street Ton Duc Thang. We will send officials to inspect, review the planning, and verify to handle according to our authority," the leader of Tan An Ward People's Committee informed.
Mr. Tran Hong Tien - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province said that the proposal to name streets is under the authority of state management agencies according to regulations.
An urban area investor cannot arbitrarily name a street but must be considered, proposed and implemented according to the correct order and procedures by a competent authority, formerly the Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee (old), now the Tan An Ward People's Committee.
Regarding the road named Ton Duc Thang in the Premia Eco City urban area, Mr. Tran Hong Tien said that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will assign a professional department to inspect and review to advise on appropriate handling directions.
