According to EVN, exactly 40 years ago, the Tri An hydropower project began construction with financial and technological support from the Soviet Union. The project was officially inaugurated in 1991 with 4 units, a total designed capacity of 400MW, and an average annual electricity output of more than 1.7 billion kWh.
After being put into operation, Tri An Hydropower Plant has contributed to providing energy for the socio-economic development of 16 southern provinces and cities, ensuring industrial and domestic water sources for millions of people, and irrigation water for more than 20,000 hectares of rice fields and land in the downstream area. During the operation process, the project has always ensured efficiency and safety.
Speaking at the ceremony, EVN General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan said: To meet the increasing demand for consumer loads and take advantage of excess water discharged during the annual flood season, EVN has proposed to invest in the Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project and the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy in 2020.
The project has a total installed capacity of 200MW, including 2 units, each with a capacity of 100MW. After being put into operation, it will contribute to increasing the ability to mobilize capacity for loads in the Southern region...
Hieu Liem Bridge is an important part of the project, approved as a level II project with a length of 249.5m and a width of 9m. The bridge was built to serve the transportation of materials and equipment during the project construction process.
After the project is completed, Hieu Liem Bridge will be left to serve the travel needs of local people, helping to connect traffic and contribute to the socio-economic development of the area.
Also at the ceremony, Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc said that along with the Hiem Liem bridge project, Vinh Cuu District People's Committee has recently started construction of a 1.5km long access road to Hieu Liem bridge.
Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc requested the leaders of Vinh Cuu district and related units to construct Hieu Liem bridge and the access roads on both sides of the bridge to ensure the progress, quality of the project, traffic safety, labor safety, environmental sanitation, and minimize production and business activities of people and enterprises in the area.
Representative of the construction contractor, Deputy General Director of Thanh Huy Group Joint Stock Company Nguyen Dinh Nam also requested the investor and local authorities to promptly hand over the land at both ends of the bridge to synchronously implement the construction of all items of the package to ensure the required progress.
Also at the ceremony, EVN and Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee presented 30 gifts to households in difficult circumstances.
According to EVN, the Hieu Liem bridge project will start in December 2024 and be completed after 1 year of construction (December 2025).
The Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion project will start construction in the first quarter of 2025, then generate electricity and complete in the fourth quarter of 2027.
