According to information from the Traffic Police Department (Traffic Police, Hanoi City Police), at around 8:20 a.m. on January 10, a patrol team of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3, Hanoi Traffic Police Department, discovered a 29-seat passenger van with license plate 35E-005.XX moving onto the Tay Son - Thai Ha overpass, Dong Da district.
Notably, this overpass has been installed with a no-passenger-vehicle sign and a height restriction system. When entering, the car got stuck at the limit bar, causing traffic congestion.
Immediately after discovering the incident, the traffic police deployed a traffic diversion plan, guided vehicles through the area, and assisted in "rescuing" the stuck passenger bus.
After about 15 minutes, traffic on the route returned to normal.
Working with the authorities, Mr. P.C.D (born in 1963, residing in Tam Diep City, Ninh Binh Province), the driver of the above vehicle, admitted that he did not pay attention, leading to entering the prohibited road.
Traffic police have drawn up an administrative violation report against Mr. P.C.D for "driving a vehicle onto a road with a sign prohibiting entry for the type of vehicle being driven", and have temporarily detained his driver's license for processing.
According to Decree No. 168/2024/ND-CP effective from January 1, 2025, this behavior will be fined from 4 to 6 million VND and have 2 points deducted from the driver's license.
In fact, there have been many cases of passenger buses getting stuck on this overpass.
The incident once again shows that compliance with traffic regulations, especially paying attention to signs and restrictions, is an important factor in ensuring safety and avoiding similar situations.
