At about 10:30 am on May 31, at Km46 of provincial road 105, in Mat village, Muong Leo commune, Son La province, a serious traffic accident occurred, injuring 6 people.
According to initial information, the cement truck with license plate 26C-316. XX, driven by Mr. L.V.T (resident of Som Poi village, Sop Cop commune), was traveling in the direction from Sop Cop commune to Muong Leo commune. At the time of the accident, there were 5 other people on the car besides the driver.
When reaching the Ban Mat slope area, the vehicle suddenly lost control and plunged into a deep abyss nearly 100m deep.
Immediately after receiving the news, local people and functional forces urgently approached the scene and organized rescue for the victims.
Present immediately after the accident, Mr. Hoang Van Truong, Soc Cop commune, said that by nearly 1 pm on the same day, all 6 people trapped in the car had been taken out and transferred to medical facilities for emergency treatment. Among these, 3 people were seriously injured, 3 people were slightly injured.
At the scene, the truck was heavily damaged, many bags of cement were thrown out of the truck bed, lying scattered in the abyss.
The cause of the accident is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
