On January 20, Mr. Le Hong Hai - Director of Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company - said that he had decided to temporarily suspend 3 employees on duty at the level crossing with barriers on Ho Dac Di Street (An Cuu Ward, Thuan Hoa District, Hue City).
These employees were asked to write a report about the delay in closing the barrier while the train was moving, causing danger to people and vehicles passing through this level crossing.
Mr. Hai said that the company has established a council to review, analyze and evaluate the level of violations, clarify the causes and specific responsibilities, and then propose appropriate disciplinary actions.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, the clip of the incident was recorded by a car driver's dash cam while he was driving on Ho Dac Di Street, An Cuu Ward, Thuan Hoa District (Hue City) at 5:57 p.m. on January 18.
In the clip, at the above time, vehicles were moving through the intersection between Ho Dac Di Street and the railway.
At this moment, a train rushed towards us at high speed. With less than 10 seconds left before the train passed, the crossing gate began to close.
The incident forced many motorcyclists and car drivers to stop abruptly to avoid collision. Fortunately, no accident occurred and all road users were safe.
