Quang Tri - The sidewalk renovation project on Hung Vuong Street approved the plan to relocate almost all of the trees, but the investor said he would ask for opinions on limiting the relocation of trees to the maximum.

On August 16, the Quang Tri Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board - the investor of the sidewalk renovation project on Hung Vuong Street said that it had worked with the People's Committees of Nam Dong Ha Ward and Dong Ha Ward on the tree item.

Accordingly, the units inspected the items of perennial trees planted on the sidewalk of Hung Vuong Street. And acknowledge the opinions of Dong Ha and Nam Dong Ha wards on the need to keep trees that are growing well, suitable for the type and location, only relocate the stake horn trees or within the construction area of the technical mine.

According to the original plan, the project would have to cut down 259 trees, relocate 282 trees and replant 432 trees with lentils, yellow canopy, and incense sticks. To date, 95 trees have been cut down, 67 trees have been chopped down waiting to be relocated. The section from Tran Hung Dao Street to Ngo Quyen Street will keep the trees growing well, and replace the damaged trees with additional plantings.

The sidewalk renovation project on Hung Vuong Street is over 5km long, with 6m of sidewalk on each side. Some sections are only built on one side, keeping the remaining side intact. The total investment of the project is 126.5 billion VND, from ADB loans and domestic counterpart funds, the implementation period is until September 30, 2025.

Currently, the Project Management Board has kept the trees on the route in place, only constructing items that are not affected. This unit said it will report to the Provincial People's Committee to request an adjustment to the plan, ensuring both infrastructure construction and urban landscape maintenance.
