Accordingly, 19 trees will be moved and 5 trees will be cut down to serve the expansion of the central route, preparing for important political events.
According to License No. 45/GPCX issued by the Hanoi Department of Construction on July 24, 2025, a total of 24 trees will be cut down and moved in the Hung Vuong Street area, from Tran Phu Street to Nguyen Thai Hoc Street. Of which, 5 trees will be cut down, 19 trees will be moved to suitable locations. The trees belong to the shade group such as longan, milk flower, black star, mai, tubers, are 3 - 20m high, with a trunk diameter of up to 205cm. Most of the trees are growing normally.
The reason given by the Hanoi Department of Construction is to serve the construction of the expansion of Hung Vuong Street according to the key urban renovation plan, while preparing for important political events and upgrading the traffic infrastructure in the central area.
This is the administrative - political center of the capital, where many headquarters works of Party and State agencies are concentrated. The expansion of Hung Vuong Street is part of the plan to improve traffic infrastructure and urban landscape according to the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee.
The relocated trees will be brought to the nursery for further care before being replanted in other areas in the city.
The entire process of cutting down and moving trees will be carried out by Hanoi Green Parks and Trees Company Limited, under the supervision of the Hanoi Technical Infrastructure Management Center, ensuring labor safety, not affecting the urban technical infrastructure system and complying with the prescribed procedures.
