On May 19, Mr. Dinh Xuan Duong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Khang commune (Nhu Thanh district) - said that the locality has completed handling the construction violating project of Mr. Le Dinh Dung's household in Dong Hon village.
According to the People's Committee of Xuan Khang commune, Mr. Dung's household has been recorded as having committed an administrative violation since October 2021 for encroaching on public land at plot number 154, map sheet number 20 (area of about 229.2m2).
The penalty decision No. 176/QD-UBND dated October 7, 2021 requires the demolition of all illegal constructions including: 1 wood drying kiln (18m2), a sawing machine roof (49.5m2) and a chicken cage roof (10m2).
Although part of the project has been voluntarily dismantled, by April 11, 2025, through on-site inspection, the authorities still recorded that there was still 1 sawing machine and 2 iron bars that had not been dismantled. The People's Committee of Nhu Thanh district has directed strongly, forcing the completion of the demolition.
By April 16, 2025, Mr. Dung's household had fully handled the request.
The completion of the handling of the violating project after nearly 4 years is the result of the drastic participation from the district to the grassroots level.
However, this is also a warning bell about the delay in handling violations of construction order, especially in cases of prolonged encroachment on public land. Local authorities need to learn from experience and tighten management from the beginning to avoid forming long-term "hot spots" that cause frustration among the people.
