Việt Bắc |

Tuyen Quang - Km 15+200 National Highway 279 section passing through Tan Trinh commune is prolongedly flooded, causing difficulties for vehicles participating in traffic.

National Highway 279 is a vital road connecting Lao Cai province to Tuyen Quang with a large volume of vehicles and goods moving.

Over the past time, prolonged heavy rain has caused flooding at Km15+200 National Highway 279 section passing through Tan Bac Industrial Cluster, Nam Kham village, Tan Trinh commune. The water level has risen and there is no drainage, causing stagnation, affecting vehicles participating in traffic.

Notably, this situation has lasted for dozens of days, significantly affecting people's lives.

Recorded by PV on July 20, the flooded area on National Highway 279 stretches nearly 200 meters. The current water level is 50 - 60cm, many vehicles moving through here are forced to lead their vehicles onto temporary rafts with the help of people.

Nearly 20 households living along the above area were also affected by prolonged flooding.

Ms. Le Thanh Lien (Tan Trinh commune) said: "The road has a large traffic volume, so the flooding situation is very difficult. There are many cases where cars stall and have to be pushed. Cars with low ground clearance have to move to other routes, which takes a lot of time. This flooding situation has been going on since the rain in early July.

Also according to local people's reflections, this unusually prolonged flooding situation is not entirely due to natural disasters.

The main reason stems from the blockage of the drainage culvert, making it impossible for water to drain.

Faced with the above situation, functional forces have placed warning signs at both ends of the route to guide vehicles to choose routes. At the same time, digging ditches along the national highway to lower water levels and limit water from overflowing into residential areas and nearby industrial clusters.

The Department of Construction of Tuyen Quang province has also directed to inspect and thoroughly handle the flooding situation on National Highway 279.

Through inspection, the cause was determined to be that during the construction of Tan Bac Industrial Cluster, the dumping of soil and rock within the construction area affected the drainage system, causing localized flooding.

The Department of Construction of Tuyen Quang province has directed units to focus manpower and immediately overcome bottlenecks in the flow. At the same time, complete the industrial cluster drainage system, have thorough remedial measures, and prevent similar flooding from continuing when there is heavy rain.
