On August 15, Mr. Truong Dinh Hanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan Hoa Ward (Hue City) - said that the ward's functional forces had conducted a surprise inspection of a sidewalk noodle shop at 51 Nguyen Hue, after receiving feedback on the risk of food safety and hygiene from people and the media.
The owner is Ms. T.T.D (born in 1973, residing in An Cuu ward), the assistant is Ms. N.T.B (born in 1972, also residing in An Cuu ward).
According to the inspection record, the facility used an un guaranteed water source to wash drinking utensils; the cleaning of utensils did not meet food safety regulations. The inspection team requested the restaurant owner to immediately fix the problems and strictly implement the provisions of the law on food hygiene and safety.
In addition, the Public Service Center (Thuan Hoa Ward People's Committee) has drawn up a record of administrative violations in the environmental field against Ms. T.T.D for illegally dumping garbage on the sidewalk and road. The unit is advising the Ward People's Committee to issue a decision to impose a fine according to its authority.
As Lao Dong reported, in recent days, a clip has appeared on social networks recording a scene of a shop that is said to be selling sidewalk vermicelli with unsanitary food safety actions.
Accordingly, a woman selling sidewalk noodles, believed to be near 51 Nguyen Hue (Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City), was caught unsanitary dishwashing.
According to the clip, after the customer finished eating, she took her husband and boiled dirty dishes to the nearby laundry area. The leftover food is poured into a plastic bucket, while the bowl is dipped in a bucket of water next to it, without soap or clean water. After a few basic washing movements, she wiped the loudspeaker and brought the bowl back for continued use.
