Units in Bai Sai area, Kinh Mon ward (Hai Phong) have been and are implementing many measures to overcome environmental pollution in the process of coal gathering, preliminary processing and trading.
Kinh Mon Ward People's Committee has just organized a post-inspection of the compliance with environmental protection regulations for units operating in Bai Sai area (Ngu Uyen residential group). Through inspection, businesses have basically reviewed, continued to implement and strengthened many solutions to limit the spread of dust and noise in the production and business process.
The units have covered the coal storage area; increased water spraying to reduce dust at yards, production areas and transportation routes. The misting system in the coal grinding area is also operated regularly to minimize dust spreading to the surrounding environment.

In transportation activities, businesses require vehicles to be covered tightly, not to let materials fall off during traffic. The loading and unloading of coal is adjusted flexibly according to weather conditions, limiting implementation during strong winds and dry weather to reduce the risk of dust dispersion.
In addition, units also strengthened the cleaning of the loading and unloading area and yards; regularly sprayed and washed transportation routes and promptly collected spilled materials. The dust protection net system continues to be supplemented and reinforced with nearly 200 centrifugal poles and about 2,000 m of nets surrounding the coal yard area, concentrated in directions adjacent to residential areas, including the area in Duong Thai Bac village, Phu Thai commune.
In addition to dust reduction measures, businesses also carry out periodic inspections and maintenance of machinery and equipment; reinforce to reduce vibration and noise for equipment at risk of generating loud noise. At the same time, arrange appropriate operating hours to limit impact on neighboring residential areas.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, people in Phu Thai commune have repeatedly reflected on the situation of coal dust and a pungent smell from the gathering yards across the river, in the Kinh Mon ward area, spreading to residential areas, affecting the living and daily activities.
When east wind blows, fine black-gray coal dust spreads through the wind into residential areas, clinging to roofs, gardens, trees and household items. Even when closed doors are closed, dust can still penetrate, causing inconvenience in daily life, directly affecting the lives of people in neighboring areas.
