On May 4, Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee informed that the unit had just issued a decision to administratively fine 80 million VND to Mr. L.V. A (born in 1992, owner of Q.H bread shop in Ea Drăng commune) for violating food safety regulations, causing serious consequences but not serious enough to be prosecuted for criminal liability.
In addition to the fine, this facility was also suspended from operation for a period of 3 months, and must also pay all costs related to handling the poisoning incident, as well as examination and treatment costs for the victims.
According to functional agencies, on March 27, the shop sold about 300 loaves of bread. By the evening of the same day, the first cases showed symptoms of poisoning such as fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. In the following days, the number of hospitalizations increased rapidly, bringing the total number of affected people to 86 people.
Previously, at about 4 pm on March 28, Ea H'leo Medical Center received the first suspected poisoning case with symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting.
After that, dozens of other cases were hospitalized with similar symptoms.
