On May 4, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT), Dak Lak Provincial Police informed that during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the whole province experienced 6 traffic accidents, killing 3 people and no one was injured.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of cases did not increase or decrease; the number of deaths decreased by 3 and the number of injuries decreased by 3.
Regarding patrol and control work, the traffic police force has maintained 24/24 hour operation on traffic routes. Through inspection, 1,885 violations were detected and handled (an increase of 716 cases, equivalent to 61.25% compared to the same period), fined over 3.3 billion VND; temporarily seized 239 vehicles; revoked the right to use 19 driver's licenses; deducted points from 170 driver's licenses.
The main violations include: alcohol concentration violation (158 cases), speeding (980 cases), overloading, exceeding the limit size (6 cases) and many other errors.
In addition, the traffic police force has well organized traffic diversion and regulation at points with high traffic volume, preventing prolonged congestion, ensuring people's safe and convenient travel during the holidays.
Functional forces have also organized propaganda, mobilization and signed commitments with 59 motorbike repair shop owners to strictly comply with legal regulations, contributing to preventing the situation of using modified vehicles to illegally race, swerving, and zigzagging.
Through professional activities, the traffic police force also discovered 2 cases related to crimes and law violations on the route, temporarily detaining 2 vehicles and 12 related subjects; including 1 case with 1 subject using and illegally possessing drugs.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huy Thanh, Head of the Traffic Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police, said that on key traffic routes such as National Highway 1, National Highway 1D, National Highway 14 (Ho Chi Minh Road), National Highway 19, 25, 26, 27, 29..., the traffic police force has coordinated with local functional forces to set up checkpoints, organize patrols, control, guide, divert traffic, and regulate traffic.
In the coming time, the provincial traffic police force will continue to drastically and synchronously implement measures to ensure traffic order and safety; strengthen patrols, inspections, and strictly handle violations, contributing to curbing and reducing traffic accidents in the area.
