On July 27, news from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police said that it had fined a tourist boat operating in Cam Ranh Bay for carrying more people than the prescribed number.
Previously, on July 20, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Traffic Police Department received a report from people via Zalo account about a tourist ship in the water area of Cam Ranh Bay (Cam Linh Ward) showing signs of carrying more people than permitted.
After that, Waterway Police Team No. 1 invited Mr. N.T.K (44 years old, residing in Bac Cam Ranh Ward), captain of the ship with registration number KH-13xx, to work. Mr. K admitted to the violation.
Through inspection, this ship was only allowed to carry a maximum of 32 people according to the technical safety certificate, but it has carried up to 35 people.
The authorities issued a record and fined Mr. K VND 2.25 million for transporting more than the permitted carrying capacity.
The Traffic Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province Police recommends that ship owners and captains absolutely do not carry more people than the prescribed number; fully equip life jackets and life-saving equipment; carefully check vehicles and weather conditions before leaving the port.
This unit also said that it will increase patrols and controls on inland waterways, especially for tourist boats carrying passengers during the peak tourist season.
