Labor export, opportunity to escape poverty for rural workers in Ninh Binh

NGUYỄN TRƯỜNG |

Ninh Binh - Labor exports are opening up job opportunities and increasing income for workers in rural areas in Ninh Binh.

Identifying labor export as one of the important solutions to create livelihoods for people, contributing to the goal of poverty reduction, building new rural areas and improving the quality of human resources, Ninh Binh province has issued many guidelines, mechanisms, and policies to support workers going to work abroad.

On that basis, programs to send workers to work abroad, especially in traditional markets such as Japan, Taiwan (China) and Korea, are implemented synchronously and in accordance with the law, ensuring the rights of workers.

Reality shows that labor export has brought high and stable income to workers. Many families with relatives going to labor export have risen out of poverty and have conditions to invest in production, business, improve housing and improve the quality of life.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang (resident in Binh Luc commune, Ninh Binh province) said that after 4 years of leaving for Japan, he has saved some capital to invest in business.

In 4 years of working in Japan, in addition to a salary of 35 million VND/month and being fully implemented by the company's regimes for employees under the signed contract, I also worked overtime, and each month after deducting living expenses, I also sent back more than 30 million VND to my family" - Mr. Thang shared.

Similarly, Mr. To Ba Tuong (resident in Khanh Nhac commune, Ninh Binh province) after 5 years of leaving the country to work in Japan under a labor contract, has saved more than 1.5 billion VND to build a house and take care of his children's education.

My job in Japan is as a kitchen assistant for a restaurant. In addition to the salary of 25 million VND/month, I also work overtime, calculated to be about 8 million VND more per month" - Mr. Tuong said.

After working abroad, workers not only have high incomes, contributing to improving family life, but more importantly, they are exposed to and learn modern production, management, and business methods, industrial labor style, and high discipline... This is a valuable resource for them to start a business and get rich legitimately in their homeland.

Mr. La Thanh Tung - Director of the Employment Service Center (under the Department of Home Affairs of Ninh Binh province) said that in the past time, the Center has proactively coordinated with localities to promote information and propaganda so that people, especially young workers and workers in rural areas, can promptly and fully grasp the guidelines, policies, and laws of the Party and the State, and the rights and obligations of workers in labor export work.

At the same time, provide timely information about foreign labor markets with labor recruitment needs, labor markets with labor needs, quantity, selection criteria as well as labor and living conditions, types of costs to be paid, rights and responsibilities of workers when going to work abroad for a limited time.

In addition, the Center also guides labor export businesses to send workers to work abroad under contracts in accordance with the law.

Before leaving the country, workers are signed commitments to guarantee, participate in orientation education, raise awareness of law compliance, and labor discipline. The contents on supporting air tickets for the return flight, transportation, and arranging interpreters are also given attention and timely support" - Mr. Tung said.
