On November 5, according to information from the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, at 7:45 p.m. on November 4, the town's functional forces received a report from Ms. Seriana Maria Lerch (born in 1997, Swiss nationality) about her boyfriend getting lost while visiting Hoang Lien National Park.
Immediately afterwards, the authorities proceeded to verify the information and residence of Mr. Bryan Hanselman in Sa Pa town.
Thereby, it was determined that the last place the tourist appeared was an area about 300m south of axis T2, Hoang Lien National Park, Sin Chai village, Hoang Lien commune.
Sa Pa town police quickly coordinated with other units to mobilize about 25 people to search for the lost person along the route from Cat Cat stream to Hoang Lien National Park.
After nearly 3 hours of moving through the forest and dividing the search team in 4 directions around the T2 axis, at about 1:00 a.m. on November 5, the search team reached the lost tourist who was in a state of hypothermia and panic.
At 4:00 a.m. this morning (November 5), Mr. Bryan Hanselman was taken to the nearest police station to recover his mental and physical health.
Through inquiry, the tourist said that while exploring Hoang Lien National Park, he got lost and lost his way.
