After 1 year of construction, Dai Ngai 1 bridge under the Dai Ngai bridge construction project on National Highway 60 in Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces (now Vinh Long province and Can Tho city) is gradually taking shape.
Although it is the peak of the rainy season, high tides cause difficulties for construction, the construction site is still bustling day and night, showing determination to complete the project on schedule.

Dai Ngai 1 Bridge is the main item of the 15XL package, with a total construction value of VND 3,907 billion. The project is designed according to a special cable-stayed structure with a total length of more than 3 km; in which the main bridge is 2.59 km long, 21.5 m wide, spanning Dinh An channel (Hau river). The two main towers are 110 m high, shaped like an A. The main span is 450 m long, the second largest in Vietnam after Can Tho Bridge and is the first cable-stayed bridge directly designed and implemented by a domestic consultant.
The package is headed by the Deo Ca Group consortium for 1,250 days, expected to be completed in June 2028.

Recorded at pillar P17 (on the Vinh Long side), the contractor is pouring concrete for the pillar, the workers are conducting concrete mines, the step helps the structure of the project become solid, sturdy and limits the possibility of subsidence later.
According to the Management Board, all 60 1.5 m diameter bored piles of the approach bridge have been completed, along with 6 piers, 2 pillars, 1 hat bar, 25/28 SuperT girders. It is expected that by the Lunar New Year 2026, the entire body of the pillars and beams will be completed to switch to the construction of the above structure.

Similarly, at the main pillar of 2024, more than 150 engineers and workers are constructing with the goal of completing all deposits 2 months ahead of schedule.
Because the location near the estuary often has strong winds and tides, the contractor used large cranes and 5,000-ton barges to keep it stable. The plan to close the construction floor has been approved by the investor and consultant to reduce the impact of the water level.

Mr. Cao Ngoc Nam - Deputy General Director of Deo Ca Group - informed that the construction site mobilized more than 400 officers, engineers, workers and 150 modern equipment such as large-sized pile drilling machines, 300-ton cranes, 5,000-ton barges, and organized 30 simultaneous construction teams.

Mr. Phan Van Y - Deputy Executive Director of Dai Ngai 1 Bridge Project - said that construction must be flexible according to the tide. At night, maintain 40 - 50 employees working from 6pm to 6am to take advantage of the time when the water recedes. The area near the estuary is affected by strong tides, so the construction unit had to use large barges, arrange rain shelters and safe laborers. Up to now, the progress has met the requirements set by the investor.

According to Project Management Board 85, the entire Dai Ngai Bridge construction project is currently implementing 44 construction teams, including 24 teams of Dai Ngai 1 bridge; 4 small bridge teams; 10 roadbed teams; 2 construction teams of Tran De canal embankment and 4 auxiliary works. A total of 488 people and 207 equipment were used.
To date, the volume of many important items has been completed. The Project Management Board said that the project meets the requirements of progress, ensuring quality, labor safety and environmental sanitation.
