Binh Khanh Bridge (the highest cable-stayed bridge in Vietnam) started construction in August 2015 with a total investment of more than VND 2,800 billion, and had to temporarily stop construction at the end of 2018 due to problems with capital, when it reached about 70% of the progress. The project has been under construction since October 2023, has now reached more than 93% of the volume and will be completed this year.
Recently, Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) held a ceremony to close the final bridge span. This is a preliminary step for the construction of the bridge deck, asphalt pavement and completion of technical items.
Currently, the installation of the cable-stayed system has been completed, the bridge surface is also basically completed and is waiting to enter the asphalt paving stage. The expressway section connecting Binh Khanh Bridge with the approach routes on both sides has also been completed, only waiting for the bridge to be completed to connect the entire Ben Luc - Long Thanh route smoothly.

Along with Binh Khanh Bridge, Phuoc Khanh Bridge - the remaining project on the route has also resumed construction since May 2025 after many years of stagnation. The bridge is more than 3.1 km long, the tower is 135 m high, previously reaching 81% of the progress. Currently, VEC has selected a new contractor consortium to complete the remaining part and is expected to complete the Phuoc Khanh bridge package in the third quarter of 2026.

The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway has a total length of 57.8 km, passing through the old Long An (now Tay Ninh province, 2.7 km long), Ho Chi Minh City (26.4 km) and Dong Nai (28.7 km), with a total investment of more than VND 29,587 billion. The route plays a strategic role in connecting the East - Southwest, reducing the load on National Highway 1 and National Highway 51, shortening the time from the West to Long Thanh airport, Cai Mep - Thi Vai port.
Currently, the project has put nearly 30 km into operation, and it is expected that an additional 23 km will be completed by the third quarter of 2025, aiming to open the entire route to traffic in the third quarter of 2026.
